Truck Packer vs Cube-IQ: The Same 3D Load Plan for $28 a Month vs an Enterprise Quote
Cube-IQ by MagicLogic is priced by quote, listed by EasyCargo at $2,500 a year, with axle weights, pick-and-drop sequencing and SAP and WMS connectors. Truck Packer is $28 a month, starts without a sales call, and hands the crew a link and a QR code.

Cube-IQ is priced by quote, and EasyCargo's table lists it at $2,500 for a year. Truck Packer Pro costs $28 a month, or $252 a year billed annually. Both build the same kind of 3D load plan for trucks, containers and pallets. Cube-IQ is an enterprise planner wired into warehouse systems, with axle weights and pick-and-drop sequencing, and Truck Packer is the one a crew can learn in a few minutes and open on a phone.
Cube-IQ is made by MagicLogic, which started in Vancouver in 1995, opened a UK office in 2006 and joined the EasyPost family in 2024. It says it has 3,387 installations in 51 countries. Here's a straight comparison, including where it beats us.
Cube-IQ doesn't publish a price, and EasyCargo lists it at $2,500 a year

MagicLogic's FAQ says, "We have chosen not to display our pricing online," so you go through a demo request to get a number. A 2022 MagicLogic post says the web version is sold as a subscription priced per company, and licenses can also be bought outright. EasyCargo's table lists Cube-IQ at $2,500 for a one-year license, about $208 a month, and ContainerMath lists it as quote only.

Pro is for one person and includes unlimited packs, the case and container library, CSV import, PDF export, AutoPack, weight visualization, shareable packs and a loadout checklist. At $252 a year, that's about a tenth of EasyCargo's listed Cube-IQ price, and you can sign up without talking to anyone. The 7-day trial unlocks every Business feature with no credit card. Business adds multi-user orgs, collaborative packs, multi-truck packs, the advanced importer, API access, WMS integrations and SSO, and it's contact-for-pricing.
Cube-IQ comes as a desktop install, a web app and an API engine

The flagship Cube-IQ is installed in-house with a database several users can share. Cube-IQ Web runs in a browser, tablet or phone and MagicLogic says it has the same functions. There's also BlackBox, the solver with no user interface, which runs as a Windows service for other software to call. Truck Packer is one product in any browser at app.truckpacker.com, with nothing to install. I'm a FOH engineer who planned trailer packs in Excel, SketchUp and chalk on the dock floor for years, and I built it so someone new can use it on day one.
Cube-IQ has axle weights and pick-and-drop sequencing today, and Truck Packer doesn't yet
Source: MagicLogic, Cube-IQ
This is where Cube-IQ is ahead, and it's a long list. It loads trucks and trailers including split-level, containers, railcars, air ULDs, pallets and cartons, picks the container size, and splits a load across as many as it needs. You can set loading and stacking rules per box orientation, keep fragile items on top, and follow hazmat and lithium-ion rules. It balances weight front to back and side to side, calculates axle weights automatically, loads in pick or drop sequence, and works around space you can't use, like a freezer. Truck Packer's AutoPack is a space solver without stack limits, bottom-only rules or unload order yet. We show weight per container and a weight view, and axle and kingpin weights are in progress.
Cube-IQ connects to SAP and the big WMS platforms, Truck Packer has a REST API
Source: MagicLogic, Developers
MagicLogic says BlackBox works with SAP, Dynamics, Koerber, Blue Yonder, Infor, NetSuite and Manhattan, and Cube-IQ takes XML and JSON from a WMS or TMS. That's deep enterprise plumbing and we don't have it. Truck Packer Pro imports CSV, and the Business importer also reads XLSX and dimensions packed into one column like 48x24x30. Business includes a REST API with keys you generate yourself in Settings, so your own system can create cases and build packs.
Truck Packer gives the crew a link and a QR code

Cube-IQ gives the loader on-screen and printed graphics and step-by-step loading plans, and its API returns load diagrams as images or PDF. I couldn't find a crew share link on MagicLogic's pages. Truck Packer's Crew View is a public link with the plan, notes and a shared checklist that opens on any phone with no account, and since v0.10.2 the share button makes a QR code the crew can scan at the dock. Every container also gets its own PDF.
Truck Packer does the same load plan for $28 a month, Cube-IQ does the warehouse system

If you run a distribution center where the load plan has to come out of SAP or Manhattan, with axle weights and drop order, Cube-IQ is built for that and we're not. If you need a 3D load plan for a truck, trailer or container this week, built by one person and read by a crew on their phones, Truck Packer does it for $28 a month and you can start without a sales call. Our trial is free for 7 days, so build your load and see.
