Do Flex, Rentman and Current RMS Do 3D Load Planning? 0 of 3 Do, Here's What Each One Does With Trucks
None of Flex, Rentman or Current RMS does 3D truck packing. Flex builds truck sheets, Current RMS keeps payload for reference, Rentman schedules vehicles. Truck Packer adds the 3D load plan from your pull sheet for $28 a month, in a browser, on any crew phone with no account.

None of the three big event rental systems, Flex, Rentman or Current RMS, does 3D truck packing today. Each one knows what's going out the door, and each handles trucks in its own way, but none of them shows you where a case sits in the trailer. That's not a knock. They're built to run the rental business, and they do it well. The spatial part is a different job, and Truck Packer is a 3D load planner that does it for any boxed load in trucks, trailers, containers and on pallets.
I'm a FOH engineer, and I ran into this question on every tour. The rental house has the gear list in its system, the production manager has a trailer count in a spreadsheet, and somebody still has to figure out whether it all fits. I built Truck Packer to be the easiest load planner to use, and today it's used by production shops, warehouse and distribution teams and freight crews alike. Here's what each rental system does with trucks, where Truck Packer fits next to it, and where it doesn't yet.
0 of 3 rental systems place cases in a 3D trailer
Source: Flex, Trucking and Transportation
Flex, Rentman and Current RMS all track inventory, jobs, quotes and crew. None of them has a 3D view of a trailer or an auto-pack that stacks cases in it. What they do have is a list of what goes on which truck, plus some numbers about the truck. That list is the most important input to a load plan, so these tools aren't competitors to a load planner. They're the place the load plan should start.
Flex builds truck sheets from pick lists and checks them with scans
Source: Flex, Trucking and Transportation
Flex's own page says truck sheets "are built directly from pick lists." You assign racks, cases and containers to a truck, print the sheet or share it with the crew, and then confirm loading and unloading with barcode or RFID scans. Flex logs every scan, so when a case goes missing you can see where it was last seen. That's real warehouse control, and it's something Truck Packer doesn't try to do. What the page doesn't cover is volume, weight or position inside the truck, so the sheet tells you what's on truck 2 but not whether it fits or where it goes.
Current RMS stores vehicle payload and volume "just for your reference"
Source: Current RMS Help, Add vehicles
Current RMS lets you add vehicles with a maximum payload and maximum volume. Its help article is honest about what those fields do: they "are just for your reference," and the system "doesn't weight check the total order weight against the vehicle payload." So the numbers live on the vehicle record, and the math is on you. For a lot of rental houses that's fine, because the person loading the truck has done it a hundred times. When the order changes the night before, that's where a load planner with weight per container helps.
Rentman sorts vehicles by capacity and schedules them across jobs
Source: Rentman, Crew and Transport Management
Rentman keeps your fleet in one place, shows which vehicles are free, and lets you "filter or sort vehicles by maximum capacity (volume or weight)." It allocates vans and trucks across jobs on a timeline and connects to Routetitan for delivery routes. That's the scheduling side of trucks, and Rentman covers it well. Rentman also opened up to AI with the Rentman MCP, now in public beta, so you can ask Claude or ChatGPT questions about your own Rentman data. Neither the transport module nor the MCP places gear inside a truck, and that's the piece Truck Packer adds.
Truck Packer reads single-column case sizes like 48x24x30 as of v0.10.4
Source: Truck Packer changelog, v0.10.4
As of v0.10.4 (September 28, 2026), the advanced CSV importer reads dimensions from one column, like 48x24x30, as well as separate length, width and height columns. That's the format a Flex pull sheet uses, so you can export it and bring the job straight in, and any other XLSX or CSV manifest comes in the same way. Stagera pull sheets push in directly since v0.9.3. A Rentman import is in beta. Current RMS isn't connected yet. Your rental system knows what's going out, and Truck Packer shows how it fits in a box truck, a 53-foot trailer, a shipping container or on pallets.
Truck Packer Pro is $28 a month, with a 7-day free trial
Source: Truck Packer pricing
Pro is $28 a month for one person, and annual billing saves 25%. It covers unlimited packs, the case and container library, CSV import, PDF export, AutoPack, weight visualization and shareable packs that open in Crew View on any phone with no account, plus a QR code per truck. It runs in a browser with no install and no training, and you can pause it between busy seasons. Business adds multi-user orgs, multi-truck packing, the advanced importer, API access and third-party integrations, and it's priced by quote. To be straight about the gaps: axle and kingpin weights are in progress but not shipped, and AutoPack doesn't do stack limits or unload-order rules yet.
Keep your rental system for the business, add Truck Packer for the trailer for $28 a month
Source: Truck Packer, how we see the split as of October 2026
Keep Flex, Rentman or Current RMS as the system of record for inventory, quotes, crew, scans and vehicle schedules. Nothing here replaces that, and I'd tell you not to try. Add Truck Packer when you need to know whether the job fits in the trucks you booked, where each case goes, and what gets loaded first, and you can have a crew working off the plan on their phones the same day. The two work best together, with the pull sheet coming out of your rental system and a shared pack going to the dock.
